Despite the rugged feel, the site for A Queen City Sound is clean and intuitive. This project was finished in January 2006 for an up-and-coming DJ service in Buffalo. This rugged style was developed closely with the owners; meeting deadlines and reaching goals was accomplished with consistant communication throughout the project. These guys come highly recommended!

One of the first projects that I did was for jazz-rock band On The Sly in 2003. It had been almost 3 years and they were ready for a new look. The band was happy with their previous site so they came to me first for the new one. Here is a representation of my new work. It's much cleaner and more concise than the early ones. See for yourself at www.OnTheSly.org.

This site was one of my senior projects and was finished in May of 2006. www.LydiaMarksMusic.com is the address, so you can check it out now. We went through several layout changes before coming up with the final product. Each page has a different color which took a little bit of time but it's a really nice efffect. I even managed to get college credit for this site, too!

A unique website for a unique service! www.ChristinasUniqueBoutique.com features hand-made jewelry; she uses glass, gemstones, and swarovski crystal to make some surprisingly nice pieces. This site hosts an image gallery which Christina controls and updates, as well as a no-hassle updating system for her. This is the first of my sites that has this ability! I programmed a PHP script that allows Christina to go into the site and make any updates she needs to, and it's as easy as typing the new text into a standard HTML form. Your site will have a similar system.

www.Moloko-Plus.com was one of the first sites I did. These guys have since disbanded unfortunately; they were one of my favorite bands to see. Lots of high-energy songs from these great musicians kept every show fun and fresh. Notice that their photo gallery is implemented on the front page in a verticle scroll column. Neat!

The www.IntrospeciveCollective.com site was one of my first uses of Flash for the menu. It's a similar idea to www.Kimock.com, but not as busy. These guys have also disbanded recently, but I liked the rugged and raw feel of this site. It may be something I expand upon down the road.

This site, for Midnight Traffic, took a lot of work to finish according to the band's specifications, but we finally managed to reach something that worked aesthetically and functionally. I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out, especially since this was one of my first sites. This site is no longer up because the band was rejected.

This is one of my newer projects for my friends Emporium. This was a pretty fast and easy one for me so I gave them a pretty good deal on it. You can find the site up and running since I've handed it over to them. www.EmporiumWebsite.com. It has a bit of that "cartoon"-esque feel that some of my earlier work had.

This was an early-summer project for me in 2005. I managed to meet up with a lucky guy who has a (surprisingly nice) recording studio in his basement. His rates are pretty cheap, I suggest taking a look if you need any studio work done. You can find his contact information on the page .. www.TheCaveRecordingStudio.com. This site was my first that implemented volume controls for a music loop.

This may have been my first site I did completely on my own, back in the fall of 2003. On The Sly is a jazz-rock band from Fredonia NY and have been growing slowly but surely. This was my first use of loading music into a page through Flash. I recently updated this site with a new look, but be sure to check it out at www.OnTheSly.org.

This is the one that started it all. Before I did any graphic design work myself, I had friends who were graphic design students and one of them made this layout. I took the layout and made it function as a website. This is the site that got me interested in doing web design work on a more serious level. This original layout is no longer available but the site still exists! www.Dumbfungus.org

The Seed Factory was a college house basement that put on shows every Thursday. The people who lived there were into live music and would get bands to come play in their basement in exchange for beer and tips. The folks who ran it have since graduated and the house has new residents, so this site is dead now. One interesting thing about this site was that I used roll-over images (instead of Flash) to do the menu. I learned that roll-overs are even more of a hassle than Flash.
